DeRust (โปรแกรมทำความสะอาดไฟล์บน Mac ฟรี) : โปรแกรม DeRust เป็นโปรแกรมทำความสะอาด และจัดการพื้นที่จัดเก็บข้อมูลสำหรับ ระบบปฏิบัติการ (OS) แมคโอเอส (macOS) ซึ่งถูกพัฒนาขึ้นมาเพื่อเป็นทางเลือกฟรี สำหรับทดแทนโปรแกรมเชิงพาณิชย์ยอดนิยมอย่าง CleanMyMac จุดเด่นสำคัญที่สุดของโปรแกรมนี้คือ การพัฒนาขึ้นด้วย ภาษา Rust แทบทั้งหมด ทำให้ทำงานได้เร็วมาก, ใช้ทรัพยากรเครื่องน้อย และได้ขนาดไฟล์ติดตั้ง หรือ Binary เพียงประมาณ 7.5 MB. เท่านั้น
ความสามารถหลักของ โปรแกรม DeRust แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ส่วนสำคัญ ประกอบด้วยการสแกน และกำจัดไฟล์ขยะของระบบ เช่น ไฟล์แคช, ไฟล์บันทึกประวัติการทำงาน (Log File), ไฟล์ตกค้างจากการพัฒนาซอฟต์แวร์ด้วย Xcode รวมถึง Launch Agents หรือโปรแกรมเบื้องหลังที่เสียหาย ถัดมาคือฟังก์ชันสำรวจความจุข้อมูล (Disk Explorer) ที่เปิดให้ผู้ใช้สามารถไล่ดูโครงสร้างไฟล์ และโฟลเดอร์ทั้งหมดในเครื่องโดยจัดเรียงตามขนาด เพื่อให้เห็นได้ชัดเจนว่าพื้นที่จัดเก็บถูกใช้ไปกับอะไรบ้าง ? และเลือกสั่งลบเฉพาะสิ่งที่ไม่จำเป็น และสุดท้ายคือฟังก์ชันถอนการติดตั้งแอปพลิเคชัน (Applications) ซึ่งออกแบบมาเพื่อลบตัวโปรแกรมพร้อมล้างไฟล์คอนฟิก หรือไฟล์เบื้องหลังที่กระจายอยู่ตามโฟลเดอร์ต่าง ๆ ออกไปจนหมดจด ต่างจากการลากไอคอนลงถังขยะแบบปกติ
ในแง่ของความปลอดภัย โปรแกรม DeRust ออกแบบระบบให้ไฟล์ทุกอย่างที่สั่งลบจะถูกส่งไปยังถังขยะก่อนเสมอ แทนที่จะเป็นการลบไฟล์ทิ้งถาวรในทันที ทำให้ผู้ใช้สามารถกู้คืนกลับมาได้หากเผลอลบไฟล์ผิดพลาด
ในส่วนของประสิทธิภาพ โปรแกรม DeRust เรียกใช้งานคำสั่งระดับล่างของระบบ macOS อย่าง getattrlistbulk ร่วมกับการประมวลผลแบบขนาน (Parallel Processing) บน Performance Cores ของชิป Apple Silicon ส่งผลให้การสแกนพื้นที่จัดเก็บที่มีไฟล์กว่า 2.3 ล้านไฟล์ ใช้เวลาเพียงประมาณ 10 วินาทีบนชิป M4 Pro เท่านั้น ทั้งนี้ ผู้ใช้งานจะต้องเปิดสิทธิ์ Full Disk Access ในการตั้งค่าระบบ macOS เพื่อให้โปรแกรมสามารถสแกนค้นหาไฟล์ได้อย่างสมบูรณ์ทั่วทั้งเครื่อง

DeRust is a cleaning and disk management utility for macOS, developed as a free alternative to popular commercial software like CleanMyMac. Its most notable highlight is that it is built almost entirely in Rust, enabling blazing-fast performance, minimal resource consumption, and a lightweight binary or installation footprint of only around 7.5 MB.
The primary capabilities of DeRust are divided into three essential components. First is scanning and purging system junk, such as cache files, log files, Xcode development leftovers, and broken Launch Agents or background processes. Next is the Disk Explorer function, which allows users to browse their entire drive's file and folder hierarchy sorted by size, clearly showing where storage space is being consumed and enabling the selective removal of unnecessary data. Finally, the Application Uninstaller is engineered to thoroughly remove software along with configuration files and leftover background assets scattered across various directories, unlike the standard drag-and-drop to the Trash.
In terms of safety, DeRust is designed so that every deleted item is initially sent to the Trash rather than being permanently removed right away, allowing users to recover files in the event of an accidental deletion.
Regarding performance, DeRust leverages low-level macOS system calls, specifically getattrlistbulk, paired with parallel processing across the Performance Cores of Apple Silicon chips. As a result, scanning a storage drive containing over 2.3 million files takes only about 10 seconds on an M4 Pro chip. To allow the utility to perform a complete search across the entire machine, users must grant it Full Disk Access within macOS System Settings.
